Event Overview

The "Bear Hunt" is a cooperative alliance event in Kingshot designed to yield significant rewards, most notably Forge Hammers and vast quantities of resources, by dealing damage to a bear. The key to maximizing your damage output and reaching the highest reward tiers is not individual player strength, but strategic alliance-wide coordination.

Understanding Bear Hunt Rally Mechanics

A fundamental understanding of what rally leaders and rally joiners contribute is essential for optimizing damage.

The Rally Leader's Contribution:

• All Buffs: The leader's stats apply to the entire rally. This includes all combat research, governor gear and charms, hero equipment and stats, consumable combat buffs, pet bonuses and abilities, and cosmetic buffs (skins, frames, island decorations).

• Rally Capacity: The leader's Command Center level dictates the total number of troops that can join the rally.

• Hero Expedition Skills: All expedition skills from the leader's three chosen heroes are active for the rally.

• Troop Damage: The leader's own troops deal damage based on all the buffs they provide.

The Rally Joiner's Contribution:

• Troops: Joiners contribute troops, which benefit from the leader's buffs and deal damage accordingly.

• A Single Hero Skill: This is the most critical and misunderstood mechanic. A joiner contributes only one hero skill to the rally. This skill is determined by the hero placed in the first position (the "captain," marked by a green flag).

• Skill Selection Logic: The game selects the top four hero skills from all joiners based on skill level. If there's a tie, priority is given to those who joined the rally first.

• Skill Stacking: Flat stat buffs (like lethality or attack) stack and provide significant multiplicative benefits. Percentage-based chance abilities do not stack.

• What Joiners DO NOT Contribute: Joiners do not contribute any of their own stats from governor gear, charms, research, or consumables to the rally. Their second and third heroes only serve to increase their personal deployment capacity.

Roles and Responsibilities

For Rally Joiners:

• Contribute the Right Skill: Your primary job is to place a hero with a valuable offensive skill (ideally a lethality buff) in your captain slot. If your best heroes are unavailable, it is better to join a rally without sending a hero than to send one with a useless skill that could displace a better one.

• Optimize Troops: Since the bear deals no damage, you can send an archer-heavy march (e.g., 85-90% archers) to maximize your personal damage score in strong rallies.

• Use Presets: Set up formations in your profile to quickly deploy marches with the correct hero and troop composition.

For Rally Leaders:

• Assess Your Strength: Only the strongest members of the alliance should lead rallies to ensure all joiners receive the best possible buffs.

• Manage Rally Count: Avoid having too many open rallies, which can split joiners and dilute the effectiveness of hero skill contributions.

• Select the Best Hero Combo: Choose heroes that provide the maximum offensive buffs for the entire rally and equip them with your best gear.

• Police Your Rally: Actively monitor who joins your rally. If a member joins with a hero that provides a poor skill (e.g., a defensive buff), kick them from the rally and explain why. This is crucial for maximizing damage for everyone.

• Ensure Max Trap Enhancement: Alliance leadership should ensure that the maximum trap enhancement benefits are active for every Bear Hunt by encouraging members to use their hunting arrows.

Hero Meta and Strategy

The hero selection strategy prioritizes lethality over attack, as it has a greater impact on the damage formula, and prefers flat stat buffs over percentage-based skills due to stacking benefits.

Recommended Heroes for Rally Joiners:

Top Tier (Best Choice): Amadeus, Chenko, and Yanu. When placed in the captain position, each provides a 25% lethality bonus, the single best contribution a joiner can make.

Use Cautiously:

• Attack Buff Heroes: Amane (25% attack) and Hilda (15% attack). These provide stackable buffs but should not be used if they might displace a lethality hero.

• Percent-Chance Heroes: Marlin, Zoe, Jagger, Petra. These skills do not stack. Use them only if you are certain a lethality slot is not being contested, such as in a weaker or less-full rally.

Avoid: Any hero whose first-position skill is defensive or growth-oriented, as they provide zero value to the rally's damage output.

Advanced Tips for Maximum Rewards

1. Strategic Town Placement: Arrange alliance members' towns as close to the pitfall as possible, with the strongest players closest. This reduces their rally return time, increasing the total number of rallies that can be launched during the event.

2. Recall Troops Quickly: If your troops are out gathering, use an Advanced Teleporter to instantly recall them and your armies in time for the event.

3. Final Minutes "All-In": In the last 5-7 minutes of the event, all members should launch their own rally. This provides more opportunities for returning troops to join a final attack, maximizing the alliance's overall score.

4. Play the Reward Breakpoints: Pay attention to the damage thresholds for reward tiers. If you know you cannot reach the next tier, consider helping others by joining their rallies with a key hero but only one troop, freeing up space for members who are close to their next reward level.

Key Takeaway: Bear Hunt success is fundamentally a coordination game. By understanding rally mechanics, optimizing hero selection, and following strategic tips, your alliance can maximize rewards for all members.
